Stockholm – our capital city with millions of dreams, expectations, and ambitions. We work for everyone living here today and in the future. Now we are looking for someone who wants to think big, new, and differently with us – for the people of Stockholm.

Welcome to Us

The park play activities within the administration consist of four work teams that staff five park play areas and are part of the unit for Open Preschool and Park Play.

The five park play areas are:

  • Bandängen
  • Rågdalen
  • Milanparken

We are now looking for a qualified recreation leader for the work team in Östberga that staffs the park play areas Backen and Stamparken as well as the leisure club for grades 4-6.

The park play areas are part of the unit Open Preschool and Park Play, which in turn belongs to the department for Preventive and Promoting. The department also includes youth centers, open preschools, field assistants, parent reception, and youth reception among other activities. The unit is HBTQ-certified. The park play areas are in a development phase where we implement the City of Stockholm's common park play strategy.

Your Role

The park play area has children aged 6–12 years as its main target group where developing pedagogical and cultural activities are planned and implemented to attract children to meaningful leisure, outdoor activities, and play/creation. You have confidence in children's and young people's abilities and create space for their ideas, engagement, and participation in the activities.

Your work includes planning, documenting, and following up on the activities together with your colleagues at the park play areas. You also collaborate with other activities within and outside the unit to create good conditions for children and young people in our neighborhoods. The role also involves strengthening the administration's work on gender equality and inclusion and creating meeting places for all visitors, from families with children to seniors.

The activities in Östberga have two park play areas and a middle school club. As an employee, you and your colleagues in the work team take turns staffing the activities. Collaboration with other activities such as parent advisors and schools in the area is part of your role. You will also be part of the entire park play group that meets regularly for joint planning, experience exchange, and development work.

Your Competence and Experience

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is a qualified recreation leader or has another post-secondary education (e.g., social pedagogue, leisure educator) that the employer considers equivalent or corresponding pedagogical education for working with children and young people.
  • Has experience working with children and young people, preferably in park play or similar open activities.
  • Has experience with parent contact.
  • Is creative in areas such as music, dance, outdoor life, and various sports.
  • Has very good computer skills.

It is advantageous if you have an interest or competence that can contribute to the cultural content of the park play, such as music, creation, theater, or similar.

We are looking for someone who is responsible, secure, and has good self-awareness. You understand that your engagement and knowledge set the standard for the quality of the activities. You are proactive, initiative-taking, social, and positive, and have a genuine interest in building relationships with children and their parents. We see that you are structured and like order and tidiness. To fit into the role of recreation leader, we believe you have good collaboration skills.

We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
